One.

Words can't adequately express the emotions I felt as my sweet baby turned a year old. I don't know how it's possible an entire year has passed since she came into the world. Life before parenthood was instantly just a distant memory. I've watched her grow and change, and felt so much love I could burst. Not that it's all rainbows and butterflies-exhaustion and frustration have gotten the best of me on more than one occasion and it's actually quite hard leaving behind my selfish, materialistic ways. I'm not the runner I was, peaceful dinners and full nights of sleep are things of the past, my once coveted wardrobe is losing its luster, and often times I forget who "I" am outside of Finlay's mom all together. But being her mom is the most important thing I'll ever do, so a temporary loss of identity is just par for the course I suppose:o)

Let me just preface the birthday party portion of this post by saying birthday parties are getting out of control!!! And if you spend any amount of time blog hopping or searching Pinterest, you are bound to get overwhelmed just as I did. I'm so proud of myself for letting go of perfection, and just enjoying my first baby's first birthday sans stress. (Again-who am I??!) I went with a birdie/chalkboard theme since those have been two constant themes throughout her first year. It was a perfect, beautiful day & baby girl was spoiled rotten.

Huge thanks to our friends and family who helped celebrate and especially the moms for all of their help in the preparations. Happy Happy first birthday my precious Fin! We love you more than life.
