~Babymoon~

I came home from work on Valentine's Day to find a beautiful bouquet and a booklet with pictures of all my favorite places in Charleston.....Lee planned a Babymoon! We've gone on a million little "getaways" over the last 8 years, and I've planned every.single.one. My husband's an amazing, generous man, but gift-giving just isn't his thing. {i.e. Mini fridge for my 26th Birthday} So imagine my surprise & elation to find he booked the hotel, made restaurant reservations, and planned an itinerary including some of my favorite, most sentimental places.

Upon arrival, we enjoyed a few beverages {I've been on the countdown to my next drink for 9 months now} and walked around the Southeastern Wildlife Expo. I then insisted on a "quick" trip to the outlet to look for the baby. Four baby stores and not a single purchase later, a meltdown was fast approaching which lead us where? Babies R Us in North Charleston. Not exactly what Lee had in mind for our last romantic weekend before parenthood. An hour-ish later we walked out with diapers, nursing pads, and we impulsively picked out a monitor. I did feel somewhat better being able to cross those couple of items off the oh-so-long list. Later that night we enjoyed dinner overlooking the water and were back at the Inn in our jammies by 10. Oh my how times have changed!!

The next morning we {by we I mean me} soaked up the Murray-wake-up-call free morning and laid in bed until 8. We ventured to Middleton Place, my favorite plantation. This is the spot where I said yes a few short years ago, and love revisiting it:)

It was such a lovely, final trip for the two of us.

After picking up the pups, I once again begged to go to the baby store in hopes crossing off more things from "the list".
You could say it was a successful trip. And by successful I mean insanely expensive!!! I finally feel {a little more} at ease knowing there aren't a thousand more things we need.

Happy 37 weeks! Let's be honest, I've never looked so rough and there is nothing happy about being 37 weeks pregnant except the fact that we're so close!!!!

In case it's not obvious, this boy is my baby-constant companion, 100 pound lap dog. I sure hope he adjusts well to sharing my attention/love.

Now it's time to pack bags and scrub this house. Happy nesting:)
