*Deck the Halls*

It's that time of year again when I transform my house into a winter wonderland, where Christmas music echoes at all times & decorations are around every corner!

25 Days of Christmas

The Christmas holiday has always meant so much to me, and many of my fondest childhood memories involve Christmas. I've dreamt of instilling my Christmas spirit on my babies as long as I can remember, so to make the season extra memorable, I have 25 days of special activities & traditions planned for baby girl. She's a mere 8 1/2 months and won't understand or remember any of it, but I will and I plan to continue the tradition year after year:o)

Celebrate the Season {#jocasseecamping2013}

We spent the weekend camping in Lake Jocassee with friends last weekend. It was hard being away from baby girl, but we had a fantastic time hiking and sitting by the fire. Toby is a seasoned camper and loves the outdoors. I was happy to give him all the attention for a few days.

We arrived after dark Friday night, which made for a bit of a challenging tent set up. (Not that I participated!)
 After a cold night, we woke up, ate our weight in bacon, and ventured over to Table Rock.

 The 7.2 mile hike left us all exhausted and ready for hot chili and cold beer. Or applepie moonshine if you coined the alter ego "Dickey" for the weekend ;o)

 Happy pup.

What a great time we all had! I hope we can make it a yearly tradition. Not that I don't love roughing it in the wilderness, but a cabin with a hot tub next time might be nice!

8 Months.

Eight months gone in the blink of an eye. She seems older each day, constantly changing, growing, and reaching new milestones. One tooth has officially poked through and another is on its way. She weighs a whopping 23 pounds and wears 12 month clothes, which are long seeing as her height doesn't quite match the rest of her! She started clapping and shaking her head as if to say "no". She's pulling up on everything & I suspect we will have a walker sooner rather than later. We are also starting to see glimpses of tantrums when she doesn't get what she wants. Unfortunately we continue to be regulars at the Doctor's office. Thank God for insurance. My fingers are crossed this isn't an indication of what winter has in store for us. We are gearing up for a fun-filled first holiday season.

Happy 8 months my sweet, beautiful, happy girl! I can't wait for all the fun ahead this Holiday season:o)
